Abstract
I have been working with the media as spokesperson for the Australian College of Midwives for 16 years now and have undertaken research into print media representations of midwives and obstetricians. I have learnt that you are never an expert; you can always learn and if you are not willing to accept the occasional humiliation you will never achieve success and have an impact.
