Abstract

This resource is a printed booklet produced by Project 10%, an organisation that campaigns to lower the number of Indigenous prisoners in Queensland jails. The booklet was written by Megan Williams, one of the directors of Project 10%, using stories gathered as part of her PhD research into the role of families and service providers in supporting Indigenous people released from prison in Brisbane. One of the purposes of this booklet is to provide mainstream service providers and policy makers with an opportunity to directly hear the perspectives of Indigenous people who are involved in prisoner support and prisoner reduction. The booklet highlights the leadership shown by Indigenous people and the success of solutions that are community led and developed.
