Abstract
Responding to Tait (1992), this article applauds Tait's emphasis on the importance of theory in our understanding of youth and youth behavior. In this context, however, it argues that both the more traditional and the new perspectives are needed if we are to achieve the needed deeper and more comprehensive level of understanding.
