This Intercultural Prosocial Compositional Voice explores an intersection between East Asian, Australian, and Western popular music aesthetics, contemporary audio culture, and the materiality of the Western orchestra. A raw, unmasked compositional voice, toward a prosocial aesthetic, revitalises the fusion of popular music and the orchestra. Four song cycles draw on a selection of previously unfinished musical organisms spontaneously written in moments of emotional expression. An intimate connection to the orchestra and the voice of the singer is achieved through audio technology creating a sense of sonic proximity, and through not masking the orchestra with electronic and percussive instrumentation.
