The work in this thesis describes the impacts of biotic and abiotic factors on the biological control of the soft scales, Saissetia oleae (black scale), Ceroplastes destructor (white wax scale) and Ceroplastes sinensis (hard wax scale) in olive groves and citrus orchards in temperate southern Australia. In addition, it has also addressed the distribution and biology of black scale.
